if my 60gb ps3 got the red light of death and i change the hard drive, do i lose ps2 backward compatibility?
my first gen 60gb ps3 died the other day, getting the red flashing light of death. the warranty is expired so i was thinking of changing the hard drive since i heard that is a way to fix it (dont wanna pay sony 150 and wait weeks for a new one.) does anyone know if doing this will make me lose my ps2 backwards compatibility?
No, changing the hard drive will not make you loose BC, it’s fine, the BC has nothing to do with the hard drive:)
Replacing the hard drive will only fix your PS3, if it’s the hard drive that’s broken, if it was the fan, or if it overheated, then changing the hard drive would not fix it:) But it’s quite likely that it was the hard drive:)
