Can I save Photoshop Elements plug-ins for re-installation?

Hi I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and I have a lot of add on plug-ins from third party providers. Is there a way I can save the plug-ins for when I do a re-installation of Elements? Otherwise I have to go searching around all over the net again to get the plug-ins back.

OK…there are a fews ways to save your plugins. I usually copy the 8bf files or the whole unzipped folders or the exe file of self-installing ones and paste into Elements Plugins folder. I then click and drag the originals into the appropriate monthly subfolder in the year’s Add-Ons folder. (Example: I right-click on the Desktop, slide the cursor down to New… and make a new folder, Add-Ons 2010, and inside this folder I make subfolders for each month, Jan 10, Feb 10, etc.) Once a month when I back up to my external drive and to DVDs, I always backup the month’s Add-On folder along with everything else.

The best thing to do is to create a Plugins folder on your desktop and install all your plugins in it. In Edit>Preferences>File Locations you can tell Elements where this folder is. Then just back it up periodically to save the plugins.

If you’ve installed all your plugins into the Plugins folder in Adobe’s Program Files folder using Windows Explorer, then back up this folder when you back up.

I’d have a heart attack if I had to re-find the plugins, brushes, etc. that I’ve added to Elements.
