Green Screen Technology: A New Edge in Video Editing
Video editing is the method in which one edits segments of motion video footage with special effects and sound recordings. With the usage of these effects, a photographer can communicate fictional and non-fictional events. The main aim is to manipulate the events to communicate the intended message to the viewer. Green Screen technology is one of the processes deployed for visual effects. Green screen is an advanced technique that manipulates images the way a photographer wants. A photographer can reach beyond the horizon of reality and can create something that blends fantasy with actuality.
The green screen refers to the process of mixing two images together. In this process, you remove the color of one image to reveal another image behind it. It is hard to determine whether one should use green or blue color as a background. However, a photographer mainly uses green color, as image sensors in digital video cameras are most sensitive to this color. One of the tips to determine the color is that the subject should contain as little of the screen color as possible. For instance, when the background is a green farmhouse you should opt for a green color. If you want to represent a sea area or a cloudy scene then a photographer should use the blue color as the background. Proper lighting and high quality camera are the prerequisites in this technology. With good lighting, you can avoid shadows on the face or clothes of the subject that avoids dull or unclear appearance of the subject. It can also cause undesired shades on the subject. A high quality camera equips you with better technology to take picture of a subject. It gives a clear picture with bright colors and proper lighting. These two prerequisites give desired results to a photographer.
Photographers often use this technology for photo shoots in magazines, newspapers and on the Web. Advertisers use the technology for modeling. Fashion designing is another profession where one can employ such effects. Photographers are able to fix elaborate sets and all kinds of backgrounds with this technique. Those who are the lovers of photography can also use the technology at home. Mount green or blue color to the wall and take photographs or videos of your loved ones. It is great pleasure to see their faces well lit with surprise when they see themselves in unimaginable places using video editing software.
