My boyfriend said he wants to try water sports with me, but how do I know which water sport to practice?

He is coming home from prison and he keeps telling me the first thing he wants to do when he gets here is water sports with me. I’m looking forward to him getting here, and want to have all the equipment ready, and have a little practice so I look somewhat sporty, but which water sports should I practice? There are so many. Which are the most popular water sports? THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!!!
